Soccer Workshops
I grew up playing in the Panama Canal Rec leagues, then went on to play through high school, college, and university, plus competitive women's and co-ed leagues in Atlanta and here in Panama. I coached for the YMCA rec league during university.
Watching this year's World Cup got me wanting to get back into the game, and with the Women's World Cup in Brazil next year, the timing felt right. When I go out to the fields here in Panama, I keep noticing the same thing — plenty of boys playing, but rarely any girls. These workshops are my way of changing that: giving girls a space of their own to learn, play, and fall in love with soccer too.

The workshops are for any girl interested in learning, improving, or just playing soccer — all while having fun and meeting new friends. Workshops will work on ball handling, shooting, passing, and off-the-ball movement. Each session starts with individual skills, moves into partnered skills, and ends with scrimmages to put everything learned into practice. The workshops are small in size to focus on building the skills of each individual. Each session will build upon the next. Everyone is welcome.
What to bring: shirt, shorts, shin guards, soccer socks, cleats, a water bottle, and a ball if you have one.
PLEASE PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR BALL.

We'll meet every Monday morning in July at the 5-a-side fields in the City of Knowledge.
We'll play in the rain; however, for thunderstorms, we'll stop and, depending on how far into the workshop we are, either add time to another session or set a makeup date.
Space is limited — contact Joy soon for questions, sign-up, waivers, and payment.
